General Solicitation

General Solicitation is the process of offering securities to the public. Practically speaking, general solicitation allows VCs to raise money for an investment vehicle (SPV or fund) from individuals that they don’t have a pre-existing relationship with. This includes marketing the investment opportunity on social media, websites, television, radio, or any other public channel.

General solicitation is only allowed for funds that operate under Rule 506(c).
